Facing Reality
I always knew this time would come, a necessary step I have to take for my own sake: I'm quitting gaming forever
Why
-
Lost interest - The fun faded over time. Gaming feels like a repetitive chore: objective, reward, repeat. It's not enjoyable anymore.
-
Health - In late 2023, I was diagnosed with glaucoma. Years of staring at screens for hours damaged my vision significantly. I need to protect what vision I have left.
Timeline
- 2006: Started on a Compaq laptop with Command & Conquer, Counter-Strike, Zombie Shooter
- 2007 PS2: Collected huge amount of game CDs, finished one after another
- 2008 GBA/PSP: Got into Pokémon series
- 2013 PS4: Played Call of Duty, Battlefield, FIFA with online friends
- COVID: Sold my Gaming PC to survive
- 2025: Built a new PC, but the gaming excitement never came back
Favorite category: Shooters
To My Gaming Friends
To everyone I've played with over the years: thank you for the memories. The late-night grind, the intense matches, and the random Discord laughs—you made the journey worth it.
What's Next
- Career: Pursuing cloud computing
- Fitness: Starting calisthenics, considering self-defense martial arts
- Health: Protecting my vision
Gaming was a big part of my life, but it's time to move on. Loukazou signing out.
